Epitalon — also written Epithalon, and known in Russian-language sources as эпиталон — is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) based on a sequence isolated from pineal gland extract. All three names refer to the same compound.
Studies have examined epitalon in relation to telomerase activity and telomere length in cell culture, circadian and melatonin regulation, and markers associated with cellular ageing. Much of the available literature consists of preclinical and small-scale work.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder, in 10mg vials.
