Tesamorelin

Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), stabilised against enzymatic degradation by an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl modification. In plain terms, it signals the pituitary gland to release more of the body’s own growth hormone, rather than supplying growth hormone directly.

Studies have examined its activity at the pituitary GHRH receptor and the resulting pattern of endogenous growth hormone secretion, alongside downstream measures such as circulating IGF-1. Clinical literature has looked at tesamorelin primarily in relation to visceral adipose tissue distribution, the deep belly fat that surrounds the organs.
