Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), stabilised against enzymatic degradation by an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl modification.
Studies have examined its activity at the pituitary GHRH receptor and the resulting pattern of endogenous growth hormone secretion, alongside downstream measures such as circulating IGF-1. Clinical literature has looked at tesamorelin primarily in relation to visceral adipose tissue distribution.
